Must Have Entry Level Rolex Watches

1. Rolex Submariner No-date

My first recommendation is the Rolex Submariner No-date model ref: #14060. This watch is long discontinued, but there are many out in the market that can be purchased. Find one in good condition and includes box & papers. It is a classic that you can’t go wrong with.

2. Rolex Stainless Steel Explorer

Next is the Stainless-Steel Rolex Explorer model ref: #214270. This watch was originally released in 2010-2011 and it ran for 6 years before being discontinued. At 39 millimeters, this Rolex is a must for a first time Rolex buyer.

3. Rolex Explorer

Number three on my list is another Rolex Explorer model ref: #114270. This is the earlier 36-millimeter version. If you can find this watch in good condition and with box and papers, you will have yourself an absolute winner.

4. Rolex Milgauss

The fourth Rolex on my list is a watch that was thought to be discontinued years ago but is still available and that watch is the Rolex Milgauss model ref: #116400. Any version or variation is worth the purchase. But if you can get the version with the white dial, you will be very happy in the near future.

5. Rolex Explorer II

My fifth Rolex recommendation is a watch I have spoken to my readers and YouTube viewers a lot about. It is the Rolex Explorer II model ref: # 16570. I was telling everyone to buy this watch just a few years ago, when you could acquire it for under 3 grand. *Pro Tip* On this watch pay particular attention to the bezel. The bezel must be in great condition for this watch to grow in value.

6. Rolex Air King

The sixth on my list is the Rolex Air King model ref: #116900. This watch is still in production but for how much longer, no one really knows. This is a beautiful watch that could double in value the moment Rolex announces it is to be discontinued.

7. Rolex Datejust

My seventh Rolex watch on my list is the Rolex Datejust model ref: #16233 and ref: #16234. This is an absolute classic that any watch enthusiast should have. This model is available in many different colours and a few variations.

8. Rolex Datejust Turn O’ Graph

The eight Rolex watch on my list has gone under the radar for far too long and that is the Rolex Datejust Turn O’ Graph ref: #116263 and ref: 116264. This is an unusual model but represents great value for the future. This model offers you something a little different in the Rolex watch family but different tends to lead to better future value.

9. Rolex Cellini King Midas

Coming in at number nine is a watch that is completely out of left field. However, it is one of my all-time favorite classics and that is the Rolex Miami Vice Cellini King Midas. This is the best value for money precious metal watch available today. *Pro Tip* if you get this watch in excellent condition, you will see a crazy increase in its value in the future.

10. Rolex Ladies Datejust

At number ten, I wanted to throw in something for the ladies. It’s the Rolex Ladies Datejust model ref: # 69173 and ref: #69174. This is a beautiful watch that is still affordable and will grow in its value in the future.

The Best Rolex Watch For Men in 2021

The Best Rolex Watch For Men in 2021

The Must Have Rolex Watch for Men 2021

There is one watch that every Rolex watch enthusiast must have and that is stainless steel Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller. Unveiled in 2008, the Rolex Deep-Sea was engineered to a depth of 3,900 metres or 12,800 feet. However, it was not met with much fan fare by watch enthusiasts and watch dealers. I am going to explain why, and how Rolex tuned it into an absolute winner.

Rolex Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller

Ref 116660

It is my opinion that the Rolex Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller was never supposed to have been designed and produced. It was only made and released as a response to the domination of Audemars Piguet in the early 2000’s. However, having owned one for many years, I love the way the watch looks and feels on my wrist. Coupled with the background story, the Rolex Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller is a tremendous watch to have in your collection and quite possibly a nice watch to have as an investment.

James Cameron Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller

Ref 126660

Rolex turned a mistake with the Black dial Sea-Dweller into an absolute winner with the James Cameron Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller D-blue dial. The beautiful D-blue dial commemorating James Cameron’s amazing dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. The D-blue dial transitions from twilight blue to bottomless black. It is Rolex’s way of celebrating James Cameron’s journey to the deepest place on earth.

MY Recommended Must Have Rolex Watch for Men

I absolutely recommend both the black dial Sea-Dweller and the James Cameron Sea-Dweller as the must have Rolex watches for men in 2021.

Save Money When Buying A Rolex

Save Money When Buying A Rolex

Save Money on a Rolex Purchase

Make no mistake about it. Rolex watches are expensive, especially on the secondary watch market. But don’t let that stop you from buying a Rolex watch. Whether you are buying your first Rolex, or buying additional Rolex watches for your watch collection, our proven buying strategy will save you money. We call this strategy the Poker Face Walk Away buying strategy. It dives into the psychology behind the words you use and the actions you take.

Paul's Pro Tip

Saving Money When Buying a Rolex

“Before you go to the watch dealer to buy your Rolex watch, I recommend you learn the Poker Face buying strategy. The Poker Face method uses a proven psychology to gain an advantage on the sale person.”

Have a Poker Face

The best strategy you can have when meeting with a watch dealer to buy a Rolex watch is to have a poker face. What does that mean? It means don’t be over excited. When you are overly excited, the sales person knows his chances of selling you a watch at his terms are very high. You must turn that around in your favor so that you are in the drivers seat. Even if you are about to buy the best Rolex watch for men, be calm, polite, and professional. At some point in your conversation use the phrase, “I could be persuaded”. Here is an example; “Ideally I’d like a Audemars Piguet but I could be persuaded with the Rolex Deep-Sea Sea-Dweller.” Then ask the watch dealer for his best price on the Rolex Sea-Dweller.

Do the Walk Away

The Walk Away strategy starts with you already knowing how much you would pay for the watch, but still asking the watch dealer for his best price. What ever price is offered, acknowledge you would consider buying the watch, but only at the price you are comfortable with and give the watch dealer that price. Now here’s where the psychology behind the strategy kicks in. After giving the price you are willing to pay for the watch, give the watch dealer the watch back, thank him for his time, tell him he can contact you if he will sell the watch for the price YOU offered. Then simply walk out of the shop. Congratulations! You are now in the drivers seat. Be patient and stay firm with the price you have in mind.
